Is your child entering kindergarten in August of 2009? You may be interested in the FREE 300 hour Summer Voluntary Prekindergarten Program.
This program is voluntary and open to all eligible children regardless of economic status. Children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2008, reside in Florida, and cannot have attended the school year VPK Program. The summer VPK Program is being offered at selected Brevard Public Schools from June 3—July 29 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with no school on July 3. Parents are responsible for transportation. There will be no school bus service. Breakfast and lunch will be available.
Registration is a two-step process:
- Parents must obtain a Certificate of Eligibility by contacting the Early Learning Coalition at 637-1800. Call now for an appointment.
- After obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility, the parent may bring the VPK certificate to a designated VPK school, along with the child’s birth certificate, immunization records, and current physical. Parents will complete school registration paper work and the student will be assigned to a class of ten.
