His response after I sent him the reply I received from Jordan:
Hi Dawn,
It reads pretty but I have no idea what he is responding to. Can you send me a copy of the original mail to him?
I'm curious about the word "new" as it will be applied to the students. Is it "new to the district" or "new to the school," (a point that would be of particular interest to parents with children who will graduate from elementary schools in the next decade)? Then comes the question, "At what point do the 'new' residents become 'not new' and eligible to attend Space Coast Jr. High again?". It would be worth the time to dig back into the mail and information that was provided back in the days when the HS was on the agenda. I'm sure there are statements made back then about lack of funds, no schools for years to come, etc., much the same as they're saying now.

His response after I told him what the 7th grade students were told:
That doesn't seem to match Mr. Jordan's reply at all. I'm inclined to believe that the teachers got the notice from the Principal, who likely got it from Dr. DiPatri's office. Of course, if you don't let the parents know, then there will be no one at the meetings to oppose the change or question the details of "soft redistricting," so you could then make it anything without opposition.
It would be wise to get some people together to attend that meeting and put in a few speaker cards to ask them to table the issue because parents have not been informed of the issue. "The Board should care enough about the people who will be affected to inform them of a decision that will affect so many people and youngsters." Minutes will be taken and the meeting will be filmed, so having people address the Board in that manner puts them in the defensive position of answering why "they didn't care enough" to at least tell the voters what they were planning. Elected people are MOST sensitive to perceptions that will cost them votes. They are okay with sneaking in the vote and being able to say afterwards, "nobody had an objection so I thought it was what you wanted," even when they know it's a lie, as long as there are no minutes and no recordings of them being told beforehand.

I plan on attending tonights meeting in hopes of getting to the bottom of this. I have two children that currently attend SC JR/SH now that will not be affected by this proposed change but I do have one child still in Atlantis. Even though some of the information states that my third child should not be affected because of his siblings attending SC now. I have a hard time believing this being we are talking about elected officials and their given track record. I will leave with this said, "Why should the people (not only PSJ residents)of this county have to swallow this proposal when it is apparent that our school board waited way too long in the game to ease over crowding in some of the schools"? Some of the schools listed that are way under capacity are that way because, "Why"? Being a life long resident in Brevard county it is quite obvious as to why. There is very little mention on the school to the "north; that some of our kids would be shipped to. I have heard it will be Jackson Middle School in Titusville. Our oldest daughter attended that school many years ago as it was the closet school to PSJ att he time. What a nightmare!!!! I hear that this school has the highest stabbing rate in Brevard public schools. We are talking middle school students here folks, I have no intentions on putting my child into an atmosphere like this. Kids in todays society have enough problems to handle without exposing them to this. We need to unite as a whole community here to fix this problem and then oust our school board officials and start over. Like the old saying goes, "If you fail to plan, then plan on failing".
I agree! As of the meeting last night, 12/11, students that are in the proposed bus zone will be grandfathered in only if they are in 6th grade now (07/08) and the older child is in 7th grade now. If your children are separated by more than one year, ie 5th and 7th or 6th and 8th they will not grandfather your child into Space Coast.
