Atlantis Elementary Kindergarten Round Up

We need your help! In order to plan properly and avoid having to hire a new teacher or move a teacher out of kindergarten once the school year has started (thus splitting classes), we need to know now how many kindergartners will be attending Atlantis Elementary School next year. We need to get the word out to the community! Tell your friends and neighbors that Atlantis' kindergarten registration will occur on Monday, April 28th at 8:30 am in the school cafeteria. For the school year 2008-2009, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2008 in order to be eligible for kindergarten. In order to register a child, a parent must have the following documents in hand:

• The child's birth certificate. If you do not have this, you may obtain it by calling 690-3455, which is the Office of Vital Statistics.

• An immunization record which includes 5 doses of DPT, 4 doses of polio, 2 doses of MMR, 3 doses of hepatitis B, and 1 dose of varicella (or documentation that the child has had chicken pox).

• A physical exam performed within one year of the school start date. Forms for these health requirements are available at the Brevard Health Department and most doctors' offices.
