Volunteers are needed for the dances at the PSJ Community Center. These dances support the Thunder Over Indian River fireworks that we all enjoy each year.
The dates are: April 18th, May 16, and June 6th. 7:00pm-10:00pm.
The dances are for children ages 9-15 years old. Cost is $8.00. Children are signed in and out by a parent.

I had a few questions I sent to the organizers and this is what I got back. 1) Can you volunteer for just one of the dates or are you committed to all dances?
You can volunteer for as many or as few of the dances as you want.
2) How do you decide who the chaperones are? This would be my concern as a parent if I was not staying to supervise.
The chaperones we've used throughout the years are usually volunteers for Thunder Over Indian River and/or the Christmas Parade. Most have had kids that have grown up here and chaperoned when their own kids went to the dances. Now that their kids are grown they still volunteer but each year we lose a couple, so we try and replenish the group from parents with "dance age" kids.
3) Are parents allowed to stay at the dance?Parents are more than welcome to stay for the dances (ear plugs not a bad idea) and all children MUST be signed in and out by a parent or responsible adult.
More info still...We need at least 12 official chaperones (names given to the Community Center).
