Register your child now for kindergarten...

By registering your kindergartener now you help the schools have the appropriate number of teachers. It can be very difficult on little ones to have to move from once class to the next in a school year so the classroom sizes can be adjusted.

Requirements for registration for the school year 2008-2009, a child must be five years old on or before September 1, 2008. In order to register a child, a parent must have the following documents in hand:
• The child's birth certificate. If you do not have this, you may obtain it by calling 690-3455, which is the Office of Vital Statistics.
• An immunization record which includes 5 doses of DPT, 4 doses of polio, 2 doses of MMR, 3 doses of hepatitis B, and 1 dose of varicella (or documentation that the child has had chicken pox).
• A physical exam performed within one year of the school start date. Forms for these health requirements are available at the Brevard Health Department and most doctors' offices.
