Superintendent DiPatri receives $18,801 bonus

Oh, I'm sure he is entitled to it, our schools are outstanding.
To me, it seems so contrary to the tightening up and buckling down on budget issues. Brevard County schools recently had to cut another $13 million. I know $18k isn't a drop in the bucket of $13 million but it probably is one more person's salary. One more family who could have dinner on their table. One more SRO at the elementary school level?
DiPatri rec'd his bonus based, in part, on FCAT scores the school received. He is intitled to up to 10% of his $204,940 salary.
Maybe there is more to this story and he is entitled to this bonus but will choose not to accept it? It could happen. I mean we all have to work together and buckle down and tighten up, give where we can give. Here's the story...
