Update: Say "No" to zoning change for Fay Plaza!.
10 21 2009 update! Messer is moving forward to request zoning change to allow the adult only arcade at Fay Plaza.
Maureen Rupe just happened to be at a land use meeting and OUR PSJ ITEM was on the agenda! It pertained to future land use and thankfully, since Maureen was there, they heard both sides of the story and the request was voted down.
We must gain support from the community if we are to keep PSJ from turning into a Pottersville- or worse!I'd like to invite you to email all the commissioners with your concern. Please get at least 10 commitments from friends and family to send emails to the commissioners! Please feel free to have them email me or join me at Facebook, so we can join forces! Is anyone able to help me with signs for Fay Boulevard? Watch the Happenings, Maureen will have an article to update the issue. The meeting is November 5th, 5 pm at the Viera Goernment center- wear purple! Will you let me know if you will attend? I want to get 100 folks to commit to be there! Not everyone is sympathetic to our postion. I know you are all busy-but the women of PSJ made a huge difference at the advisory board meeting and we need to step up now too. Nice to have a few more men along too! Thank you all!

I don't really see the problem with an adult arcade going into P.S.J. though I feel an all family arcade would be much more beneficial to us in the community. Having a place for the kids to go has always been a problem in this area. I have been here for 22years and I am not happy with what this town has turned into. When I moved here in 1988 it was a nice small friendly town, but now it has become an overgrown nightmare. In all actuality it reminds me of Merritt Island now with sirens all day, and half the night filled with helicopters. What happened to our quiet little town....
So, if you want an arcade, go right ahead... lets build this place up and up until Orlando looks like a truck stop.
I have been active in supporting a strict residential only community but every vote I administered has been shot down.. so from the words of a true local native...go ahead and build, expand, grow, and continue to deteriorate what this town was intended to be, a small quiet residential neighborhood.
From this I leave with the hopes that you find what makes you happy...Skyscrapers, and helicopters, and sirens all day, this is you want for our home...so be it...

John I agree that we need more activites for the kids to do around PSJ. However the problem with okaying zoning for an adult arcade is that should Challenger 7 close that same zoning would allow other "adult entertainment" in that strip center and I don't think that's the type of thing we want in PSJ. However, this isn't an issue now as the pulled the zoning petition.
