MAP Here's part of the map...

REVISED rotated map and added district map to compare: This does not show all of Port St John, the south street Bridge is missing and it's parallel. So LOOK closer, Fay is not the black dividing line, Greenhill Street is, houses on Song, Havana, Arequipa, Kingsville, Byron and so on are all included in the bussing zone. This only shows the Port St John areas they wish to bus to Clearlake. This does not address students in elementary that will be bussed north. Here's the website link,...
Click on map below to zoom in

Revised 12/15: Added the district's map... Fay is labelled and is the darker street in the middle of the Challenger area. Grissom is labeled as well.

So everything that is colored in red is subject to go to Clearlake?

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that you can click on the map and it will blow it up bigger so that you can see the street names involved. See ya tomorrow night.

I noticed that your map is different than the one you reference for the school board agenda in the following ways: 1. Your red area is larger and 2. The school board proposed agenda map does not have a notation for the green section.
Perhaps this was just mentioned in the meeting: can you please clarify?

Thanks for the comments. I will try to answer. I did not, myself, draw in the boundaries.
> This is a copy of the Atlantis school zoned area so it does not have all of the Port St. John (ie. Bridge St.)
> I believe it was created with the following boundaries posted on the school board site...
Using soft redistricting, the 185 prospective middle school students that move into the current Space Coast Jr/Sr High School area bounded:
On the north by the current boundary between Atlantis and Challenger 7 from Grissom to the FEC railroad, the FEC railroad Right Of Way (ROW)to Kings
Highway and Kings Highway,
On the east, by the Indian River,
On the south, by the current boundary between Fairglen Elementary School, Atlantis and on the west by Grissom Parkway.

> The North line is the current Challenger/Atlantis border so it would be drawn along that line. The only Atlantis students that are in the red zone (re-districting) are on the East of the Railroad. This border was the understanding after talking to administration on the borders.
> I think this map has more streets but it should line up with the school boards posting.
> Let me know what the differences are so we can clarify.
> The reason the map has colors is to show the three elementary zones currently. Anything not in red is considered Space Coast students, as of today.
> I do want to add the more I talk to employees of the school district in private I get the feeling that this is a stepping stone to all 7-8th grade students being bussed out of PSJ.

I'm learning as I go. I figured out how to rotate the map so both are in the same direction. Hope that helps. I also posted it at the top again so people see it when the first come visit the blog.
> I looked through my e-mails and I first learned of this potential re-districting on November 29.
> This proposal was brought up in past School Board meetings.
> Nothing has been published to parents to say they are even considering it.
> The school board says it is not hidden, it is on their website.
> They do not plan to hear from the public until March.

I don't understand the zoning, I live on Cinnamon Fern Blvd. Cypress Woods, southwest of Kings Highway. My son is zoned to go to Atlantis but we choose Enterprise. Are we part of the zoning to Clearlake? Will the kids be bused from a central location or by their homes?

Anonymous on Lake Fern,
No I do not believe you are in the area to get bussed to Clearlake but you child might have to go to Atlantis next year since Enterprise and Atlantis will be frozen to out of area students. Unless they decide to grandfather in those that are currently attending those schools.
