> "Freeze Clearlake to outgoing." The school board wants to fill Clearlake Middle School. This school should be filled with the students around the school. By freezing outgoing students the students will attend Clearlake that are in the Clearlake zone. They have McNair Middle school frozen for outgoing students as well. Looking at their zone I am surprised they are not filled. Their current line comes all the way north to Fairglen.
> Change one of our elementary schools to a middle school as a short term plan until building of middle school. PSJ continues to build and grow we'll continue to have need for a new middle school in the future.
> Share Challenger with Middle School, they have classrooms available and room for portables, both schools are on different schedules, yearly and hourly. Everyone is in PSJ close to afterschool activities and everything else that is needed.
Please post ideas here, or speak to them at
the Jan 22 school board meeting.
You might have the perfect answer-we don't want to lose it.

Before putting any Port St John child on a bus to Cocoa any Clearlake area children attending other schools by choice should be pulled back into Clearlake. Why should they have the choice to go elsewhere when our kids choice to attend their neighborhood school is being denied?
The BE THERE campaign encourages parents to be involved with their kids. Port St John parents are involved and we want our kids to BE THERE at Space Coast Jr. Sr. High! We waited too long to get a Jr High and then a High School of our own to have our kids sent to another school because no one else wants to go there.
THANK YOU, psj mom! Please send an email to the board members and Dr. Bobay.
I have written to the all school board members and Dr Bobay and Dr. Dipatri. As of today I have had a response from Amy Kneesey. She said this is one of the toughest decisions the board has to make. She stated she is looking at all possibilities and suggestions very carefully before she votes. Apparently this all comes from Senate bill 360, while I haven't found the exact verbage it has to do with fiscal responsibility and utilizing existing school resources before building new schools. My suggestions include pulling Clearlake zoned kids attending out of area schools back into Clearlake first before looking at moving our kids down there. Some may attend McNair, some may attend Cocoa Beach for the IB program-- Clearlake now has it's own IB program.
The second suggestion,, if we cant have a middle school built here build a wing for classrooms/ labs and continue to utilize the existing infrastructure- the library, cafeteria etc. They are making it work today and doing a great job.
Thanks PSJ Mom!
Great! New ideas and new School Board Members listening to the PSJ area. I hadn't even thought of an expansion on the existing building!
This proves we each bring new ideas to the table ~ Thanks again.
