Larry Hughes (Brev School Board Member) e-mail banned from school district.

I guess he sent out a politcal campaign e-mail using his school board e-mail addresses. That's a big no-no, so he is in a little hot water.

An article in the FLA Today starts out...
The campaign e-mail account of school board member Larry Hughes, who is running as a Democratic candidate for Brevard County property appraiser, was permanently blocked from the school district's e-mail system Thursday after he sent out a political message.

Read more about it here...

I did not get the e-mail. If anyone did could you post it?

I did post something about Larry Hughes e-mail back on the blog before last week...

April 2nd

Thank you for allowing me to serve since 2000 as a Member of Brevard’s School Boards. As a result of the efforts of students, parents and educators, our Schools received state and national recognition for accomplishments.

As a Board Member, I have consistently worked to do what is best for our community. You and I may not have always agreed, but you always knew where I stood and exactly why.

In November I will be leaving the School Board. There are highly qualified candidates that will elevate the performance of Brevard’s schools to even higher levels. We should be thankful they have chosen to run. I am.

Yet I want to continue my public service as Brevard County’s Property Appraiser. Property taxes and education remain Florida’s most important issues. I am the only candidate who has demonstrated that I am ready to step up to the challenge.

To avoid a qualifying fee of $8,345.34, I must collect 3,159 petitions from registered Brevard voters. I ask for your help at this time - I simply can not afford to continue in public service without your assistance.

Please print the attached file, execute the Candidate Petition according to the instructions, and use the mailer to return it to me by April 15th. Hasn’t my cornball humor over the years been worth 2 minutes and the price of a stamp? Remember to get Petitions from all the registered voters in your house. And those of your neighbors, too!

Thank you for your comments, for your support, for your patience, and, yes, even for your criticism over the years. I will strive to do an even better job as your Property Appraiser.

Larry
