Brevard County Public Schools officials are meeting and will make a determination today at 5 p.m. whether county schools will be open on Tuesday.
Several school systems in the area, including Indian River County to the south, Seminole County and Orange County to the east, decided earlier in the day to cancel classes tomorrow as a precautionary step in anticipation of tropical storm Fay.
The University of Central Florida's main campus will be closed Tuesday because of Fay's potential impact to Central Florida.
