Whew! I'm glad they did not add financial burden to the district. I would not be opposed to longer school days but I don't agree with adding 30 additional days to the calendar.
After watching the School Board meeting in my free time. LOL. I noticed that the proposal was not rejected on whole. It was reworded to "Study" global educational standards. And this should be done by 2010. They passed that item. No rejection. There was much discussion by the school board re: how the paper doesn't get the whole story. This was obviously proven when the paper's writes the item was rejected.
