He served as board chairman in 2007 and as vice chairman from 2003 to 2006. "I loved being the chairman, and I am humbled by this nomination, for sure," Jordan said. Jordan is the District 1 board member, which serves schools in North Brevard.
Board member Barbara Murray was appointed the vice chairwoman in a unanimous vote. Murray was elected to the board in 2006. Murray serves schools in Central Brevard, including Merritt Island and Cocoa.
The board leadership positions last for one year.
